Here is the calculation policy that we use at EVPS. Whilst it is a comprehensive document, it will be useful to you as it highlights the methods that we use when we calculate for all four operations and fractions. The policy highlights the key vocabulary and key questions that we use within school and will give you a starting point when working with your child at home.
The progressions in the methods that we are using will vary from each year group, so it is best to check in with your year group to check which one they are focussing on.
