Welcome to Seahorses!

Year 4 had a great day at Wembury beach on Tuesday 9th October - we scoured the beach for plastic that was washed up and learned about the harm that it does to marine life. In the afternoon, we explored the reef at low tide and practised safely searching for sea organisms in rock pools. Have a look at what we did and found!
The week before the Wembury trip, Year 4 had a day exploring our nearest habitats, the school hedgerow and vale woods. We looked for evidence of animals and plants in these places. In the afternoon, we used some of the fallen leaves to make some art, including leaf rubbing with crayons.
Year 4 had a visit from Devon Wildlife Trust Beach Rangers ahead of their trip to Wembury next week. We learned about the Big 5 animals in the rockpools and got a chance to look at some "mystery" objects that were washed up there. So excited for next Tuesday!
Seahorses have had their first homework and are getting used to arrangements in Y4 - please look at the document below which outlines what they need to do and how.
The topics that the Year 4 pupils will be covering during the Autumn Term (Terms 1 and 2) can be seen below.
The pace plan for Year 4 for this term can be seen below. Each pace plan tracks when particular areas of learning will be in focus across a term.
