The governors of the school have overall responsibility for the curriculum, discipline and financial arrangements. The day to day running of the school is the responsibility of the Headteacher.

The full Governing body meets at least once a term and parents are free to come along to observe the meetings, apart from certain items which need to remain confidential. The minutes of meetings are available for inspection in school.

The Annual Governors Statement for 2015 can be seen here.

Steve Williams

Initially joined as a Parent Governor in Feb 2010. I live locally and am married with two daughters who have both attended EVPS, which is why I was initially so keen to get involved within the school. I share the desire to see all of our children enjoying school and striving to fulfil their potential, and see the Governors role as one to challenge to help ensure this happens.

I am the Link Governor for Maths and PE, which coincidently were my favourite subjects at school, many years ago!

I do look to be as active as possible within school and particularly love attending the fabulous shows and assemblies that the children put on for us all to enjoy.

Claire Hesketh

I have been a parent governor since January 2013.
I was interested in becoming a parent governor because every child matters and all children should be given the best start in life. I strongly believe the first years of a child’s education are crucial to their later academic achievements, just as importantly – to the development of social and other life skills. My aim is to make a positive contribution to the school, every child's education and play an active role in helping the school go from strength to strength.

I am the Link Governor for Safeguarding and Child Protection.

Debbie Hutchinson

I am a fairly new governor but have strong links with EVPS as three of my grandchildren attend the school. This has given me a great insight into the teaching and learning our children experience.  I currently work for St Luke's as a Community Nurse Specialist and in my spare time I am the Chairman of a national charity that support victims of forced marriage and honour based abuse 'Karma Nirvana'.

Lucy Williams

Hi, I'm Lucy Williams. I have two children, both of primary school age. Before I had my children I was a primary school teacher. I am now a supply teacher.
I Think education is so important, and that is why I became a school governor. I feel privileged to be able to support the pupils and staff of EVPS.
In my spare time I help to run Eggbuckland Community Choir. As well as singing, I enjoy running, reading and indulging in my newest hobby, surfing.

Darren Stoneman

I am a new governor to EVPS, however I have had many years’ experience as a governor in other schools across Eggbuckland, I am excited about the energy and potential at EVPS and I am looking forward to helping support the development of this great school. I am an Eggbuckland boy, and live close to the school. I am currently employed by Plymouth City Council as the Senior Community Protection Officer which gives me responsibility for parking and CCTV across the city. I look forward to meeting you all over the coming years.
