Great news, we aim to start a new course in January 2018. More information will be available in the new School year (Sept 2017)

Many of our parents have expressed a need to find out the different ways of dealing with child behaviours.  Well, we had such a positive response to our previous parenting programme - 'Incredible Years' which we ran through Patchwork last term, that we are going to run another parenting support programme called 'Time for Parents'.

Time for parents, a free course, is open to all our parents although we have limited spaces in regard to numbers attending so it will be first come, first served.

The course looks at many aspects of parenting and is not about telling you what to do but there to offer support in providing information, strategies for home and the opportunity for you to talk to other parents many of who feel the same way as you do.  The course is also about you taking what you want to take from it.

We hope you'll be interested in finding out more and you'll want to attend because without you it doesn't happen!

Please see Dinah Kennington our Family Support Adviser for more details.

The e-safety advisor who visited and spoke to parents, staff and governors has produced a newsletter to help and advise parents. The June 2017 edition is now available to read or download.

Change for Life Club
11 Year Three children have just finished a 6 week lunchtime ‘Change for Life’ club led by the Year 6 Bronze Ambassadors. Kyan, Georgina, Brayden, Archie and Oscar planned and delivered each session focussing on healthy lifestyles and inclusive fun activities. All of the Year Three children loved it and were disappointed when it finished. Well done Bronze Ambassadors!

In response to a plea for a donation to our gardening, Thompson and Morgan have sent 20 packets of seeds, a mixture of flowers and vegetables. We'll have fun planting those and watching them grow. A big thank you to them.

Plymouth Youth Strings is a new ensemble open to primary and secondary school  students from across Plymouth with some experience of playing a stringed instrument at ABRSM grade 1 level or higher. It provides a new ensemble opportunity to compliment the range of city-wide ensembles supported by Plymouth Music Education Hub.  It aims to improve self-confidence as well as developing ensemble skills and providing an opportunity to meet like-minded young musicians. As a PMEH ensemble, there will be regular public performance opportunities throughout the year.  Membership of the ensemble is free but you will need to provide your own instrument. The first rehearsal was on 7th March 2017 from 15.45-16.45 but for more information contact Simon Maer at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Girls School.

The Plymouth Steel Ensemble held every Wednesday 16:15-17:45 is aimed at students of 11 and above with no particular musical skills; just a keen interest in music and a willingness to learn and share. They will be working on building up a repertoire of songs with an aim to perform these songs to a wide range of audiences. The sessions will be held in the purpose built music room at the brand new Red House (Plymouth School Of Creative arts) and will be an awesome way to branch out and meet new people. We are pleased to inform you that our school is a Learning Destination for the Children’s University. As part of this programme, children are able to work towards achieving nationally recognised awards that reward the learning they choose to undertake outside of school hours. By participating in our lunchtime and after school clubs, children are able to ‘collect’ hours of learning which can be added to their own ‘Passport to Learning’.

School admission arrangement consultation. Admission authorities must set admission arrangements every year. You can see information about entry in the current year here.
